The Observatory started as just "Zodiac Circus" in 2016. I came up with the idea because I was dying to make a dating sim and thought I could handle it. Turns out, obviously it was way harder than I thought — but I still dreamed about it, so I held it close to my heart. I talked with friends and family about it over the years, still trying to decide what I wanted to do.

A good friend of mine and I got to yapping about it a couple years ago and he helped me come up with some of the basest ideas of what I wanted to do, and I got to work. It fizzled out, but I didn't forget and I kept notes on all of them. A few months back (January 2026), I posted Jacques as a bot, and eventually took him down because the story stopped making as much sense.

In May of 2026, I got back to work, and with the help of AI (I know, I know), I was able to bounce ideas and decide what I wanted to do. None of my articles or bots are written by AI, but I do use ChatGPT and Gemini occasionally to help generate images and put the website together. All the ideas are mine.

The circus has been my passion project and something quite special to me over the last decade. I love it with my whole heart and I'm so excited that I finally get to share it publicly. I hope you love my little minions as much as I do.
